They don't fold like they used to

Happy 7th of July!

I spent my fourth waking up late, running 1.5 miles (weak) in some heat, and going to Marina del Rey to watch fireworks, which was actually better than I thought it would. We parked at Venice Beach and walked to Marina del Rey, which had to be at least 3-4 miles each way but it was a cool little walk because so many people were out.

I also saw Hancock, which is definitely a rental. Save your money. There were some funny parts but between some wack cgi (freeway crash scene) and a questionable storyline, I would wait for rental. Or hbo.

I played two sessions this weekend and dug myself in some serious holes both times but managed to dig back out both times. Saturday night I was in DEEEEEEP. I don't even know how I got out. I played a 12 hour session and just kept losing at the beginning. I've probably mentioned this before but even if I make a good move on someone who has a weak hand, they're calling me. I'm not sure if they are just flat-out calling stations, or they have a good read on me, or what, but I gotta stop making moves on these people. It's just tough when I know they don't have shit (i.e. bottom pair or middle pair or top pair weak kicker) and I make what I feel is a good move and they call me for a ton of money. So I'm gonna have to chill out on that. Just getting way too many calls and when I'm hitting cards it's extremely profitable because it doesn't matter what I bet, these people call me. So my best bet right now at this level I'm playing is to just wait for big hands and bet big.

I think I'm gonna try some more $15/30 as well. After my next sessions I'll go for more details on hands and whatnot so you guys can make fun of me but this whole weekend was a blur so I don't remember much. Just digging out of holes and making a small come-up.

The WSOP Main Event is in full swing but I've lost a bit of interested in the preliminary stages because Ivey and Negreanu are both out, those are the two guys that I would really follow so I'll just wait until it's down to 27 or whatever and see who's left. I guess at this point I'm rooting for John Juanda and Scotty Nguyen if they're still in.

Peace.
