I'm crashing and I'm burning

I'd love to be posting about a weekend full of flopping the nuts or rivering quads, but unfortunately that's not the case.

Instead my Friday night (and Saturday morning) was filled with missing every single draw, getting drawn out on time after time and not catching any hands. Throw some failed bluffs in there and it makes for a pretty bad poker session.

But those are excuses, I really need to tighten my game up. I'm not playing as well as I could be. Sometimes I sit at a table where it's really easy for me to make moves on my opponents and other times I'm at a table where they will call me down with middle pair. The problem is that I'm not adjusting to the calling station tables, which is essential for me to be successful.

What's disappointing to me is I need to be at a point where even if I'm card dead I make money. That's obviously not the case based on this past session. It could be that I'm being hard on myself, but that's how I feel. The good news is that I'm at a point where I don't even feel "bad beats" and I don't really feel like there's such a thing. I can always get my money in good, but there's five cards every hand and if someone is willing to pay for that fourth or fifth card and they hit it, they had the better hand. It's real easy for me to muck my cards on a suck-out loss and say 'good hand.'

No my bankroll is back to $125 (lol). I'm thinking I might play the $40, get to the $100, then get to the $200...if I can. Or else I will just have to use some back-up money for bankroll (I'm still up decent for the year). Not really the predicament I wanted to be in but it is what it is.

The other shitty thing is that I played all night Friday night until 11 a.m. Saturday, went home and knocked out, which caused me to miss both of my basketball games on Saturday. I always look forward to those games and now I have to wait a week before playing in that league. I have a softball game tonight, tomorrow night and basketball game on Wednesday night.

One additional problem that I'm having is the other players. I wrote a post a while back about not making friends at the casino and now I need to revisit that thought. When I show up at HP, there's always a bunch of people saying hi to me and talking to me about their sessions or whatever. I need to cut that shit out because it takes away from my focus. When I sit down at a table I want to evaluate the players, not discuss my weekend with some guy who I only know his first name and favorite college team.

Went out last night to "Republic" and it was pretty wack (sorry Rashien). There weren't very many people there but Pau Gasol was there. The problem for the guys there was that there were very few women present and the ones that were there were trying to get Pau's attention. I just stood around and talked to Ike about how wack the DJ was (this guy seems to think that "Wipe Me Down" and "This is why I'm Hot" are still popular). I think I need to start Djing because from what I heard last night, you don't have to change your playlist except once a year.

if you decide to play the 40 or the 100 nl its going to be very difficult to beat the rake.
