Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me.
I think it's something about the month of January that has me cursed. Either that or Corner Sleeper is rubbing off on me with his bad luck with high pairs.
I'm at Hollywood Park maxin' and relaxin' playing my cards with my boy Freddy on Monday night. We have a weak table with a couple of donkeys in full effect. Freddy loses to one of the donkeys and takes off.
In comes a good looking Asian chick (for poker) and sits down next to me. She starts talking to me and I'm evaluating her and she's pretty cute, plus she is flashing the thong at your boy every time she leans forward in her chair.
Her first hand she limps, then calls a $35 raise, then takes down a $400 pot with A-8 off-suit. She then proceeds to win about $900 over the course of an hour, then loses one hand and table changes.
Shortly after she leaves I have 9-10 off-suit in late position. Three people have limped and I limp as well. The button limps and we see the flop.
Queen, Jack, eight.
Fabulous.
The first guy, who I know is a good player, bets $60 at the pot, which is only at $25. At this point I know the worst hand he can have is KQ, but I would guess he has two pair because he is obviously trying to scare a draw out. The guy right after him then raises to $120 and has about $350 left. I know this guy has to have two pair or a set and based on his min.-raise I know he's calling my all-in, so I move all-in. Then the guy after me shakes his head in disbelief and moves all-in for about $250. Now the action is back to the first bettor and he pushes all-in for $150 more. So obviously the raiser pushes his last $400 in and I'm thinking "let me win just one of these monster pots!"
Turn is a queen.
I am now drawing dead. Such an awesome feeling to put my money in with the nuts, get three callers and a $1500 pot, see one card and then be drawing dead.
The first player who I pegged as a solid player had 9-10 as well. The second player, with the second biggest stack to me had 88. The guy behind me had QJ and took down the main pot for $1k.
I'm left with $100 and some steam. I make a series of playes on people and some pushes and work it back up to $250.
Now there's this apparently terrible player in seat two (I'm in seat seven) with $100. He goes all-in on about five out of ten straight hands and finally gets caught and loses his stack, then proceeds to rebuy for $300.
The first hand after his rebuy he raises to $15, which looks like the typical pot-building raise to get some of his money back. Four people call including myself with K-10. Flop comes K-10-3. Perfect, right? Everyone checks to me and I bet $40, hoping to get the original raiser to push over the top of me like he has been doing for the past 15 minutes. He goes all-in, I insta-call and he has the killers (pocket kings).
GG, me.
Last night, I come back like Jordan wearin' the 45. And amongst other defeats, my aces get torched by 88.
'08 is looking good baby.

what is it with cute Asian chicks playing poker? Last year I was at a convention for work, and we had a "casino night" reception. I met a cute little Vietnamese chick at the No Limit hold'em table.
