Last year was really "just another year" for me. It came and went and nothing really significant happened in my life. I have the same job, I paid a lot of unnecessary money in parking tickets, insufficient funds fees and late fees, and I have a lot more shoes and hats, but nothing else. My poker game has improved, my basketball and baseball skills have decreased, I finished the least amount of music in the past eight years, I started drinking on a regular basis, I'm in the worst shape of my life and I've lost touch with several friends.
Do you think I have any resolutions? Yeah, just a few.
1. Get back in shape: This means three morning weightroom workouts a week, 3-5 morning hoop workouts a week, three runs a week. Not to mention playing more basketball.
2. Eat better: I am fast food. No longer. But I will be on that Subway shit a lot. I'm trying to cut fast food and soda out of my diet. This will be a tough task because fast food and soda IS my diet.
3. Win more: My goal for '08 is going to be a lofty $50k. I'm working on a weekly/monthly plan for this but I think I can do it if I put the hours in and stay disciplined. It definitely isn't off to a good start due to the fact that I got swallowed alive yesterday. Let's just say I have a newfound distaste for pocket jacks.
4. Finish my mixtape by the end of March: Good luck to me.
5. Save money: I'm the worst, quite possibly in the history of the world, at saving money. Basically if I can save more than $23.64 this year I will have improved. I'm hoping to make saving money a habit this year.
6. Keep in touch: I suck at keeping in touch with friends and family and this should be the easiest of all my goals so if I fail at this, I have failed in life.
7. Get crookedstraight.com off the ground and moving. This is going to take a lot of work. Obviously I've already put up most of the site and a lot of material, but to really publicize this and get the name out will be a challenge. It is one that I'm looking forward to.
I hope you guys have some goals for the new year that you will reach as well.
