Friday night I managed to pull off my second straight losing session.
I've noticed that when I'm playing recently, I'm not focused. It's like I'm bored with the game and to be honest I'm not quite sure why. I'm at that point where I call even if I know I'm beat. Sometimes I call because I want to suck out. Sometimes I call because I just want to know if I'm right about what the other player is holding. And sometimes I call just based on the outside chance that the other player is bluffing, even if I don't think they are.
I'm bluffing at the wrong times and I'm calling at the wrong times.
And so goes the game.
I'm not really sure what I should do but the past two weeks I've been losing and spending, which is a bad combination. Last Monday I went on my first online shopping spree (these are extremely dangerous, beware) on about seven different sites (newera.com, all the links on krew's website, some other hat site...it was just bad). So Monday night I knew I needed to go make that money back. Instead, I lost my ass off for -$1500 in one of my worst poker losses ever for one session. Sweet.
Now the good news is for the last five days, I've been getting random packages in the mail every day. Two hats from here, three hats from there, a few shirts from over yonder, etc. Here are the hats that I got today. They're both minor league teams. The SeaWolves (I think) and some other team:
But back to poker, I really need to get focused. When I'm winning it's because every hand that I play I'm doing my best to make the correct decision. Lately, I haven't really cared what the correct decision was, I've been in "gamble mode" instead. I need to get back to taking my time to evaluate all the factors and the right move. The bottomline is that right now I suck.
