Friday night I went out with my boy to the supposed T.I. party, which was wack and I really don't believe that T.I. condoned this fiesta. In L.A. celebrity sells so everyone tries to put a name with their party and I think that's what these guys were doing. Party was packed with fives and sixes so the sevens thought they were tens....the math was all fucked up!
So after the club was over I dropped by my boy off and was headed home...until I saw the 405 south entrance and decided that my destiny was calling me. So I got to Hollywood Park and played a 13 hour and change session. Obviously I was playing my game...pretty much on my "A" game most of the night until about 11 a.m. but I still played for about five more hours and ended up dumping about $400 in chips (I was up about 1700 at one point). Basically the way my game works is just playing strong hands and not bluffing. Due to my age and appearance everyone usually calls me all the way down so I need to keep my bluffs to a minimum or at least use them only when the opportunity is right. I was bluffing too much late in the day and it was not working.
The one interesting thing is that my table hit the jackpot for 9k. I wasn't involved in the hand so I only got the table share of $376 and I gave $76 of that to the dealer. The guy who won got like $4k and some change. The funny thing about the hand is that the way the jackpot works is one player has to have aces full beaten by a better hand. Both cards in both players' hands have to play and they both have to be the first-best hand and second-best hand. So we have three aces on the board and everyone checks at the river. Really, the guy with the ace should bet $5 just to get the other hands out. Our board read AQA7A. So the guy in the nine seat is getting all excited saying "does anyone have the ace?!" and the guy in the three seat is nodding his head "yes." I'm thinking there's no way we're gonna win it because of the queen on board, which means the guy with the ace can only win the jackpot if his kicker is a queen or king. There hasn't been any betting since the flop so I don't think the guy has a strong ace. No one bets the river and the guy in the eight seat says "All I got is the seven." This is fucked up because the seven could possibly kill the jackpot if the nine seat has pocket sevens or lower. Sure enough, the nine seat turns over pocket fives and is jumping for joy. The dealer and I are looking at each other like 'what the fuck!' and she mucks the guy with the seven's hand extremely quickly. He didn't even notice and neither did anyone else due to all the excitement/commotion going on at the table. No one ever said anything and we were given the jackpot.
I'll update numbers later.
I went back to my baseball team today for the first time in like two months and we lost 6-7. I felt good but in the outfield I couldn't pick up the ball for shit! Luckily they didn't hit the ball to me for once although I gave up a triple because I couldn't see the ball. In retrospect that actually cost us the game. Fuck. Our team walked a lot of people and had some costly errors. I was 1-4 with a RBI and a strikeout.
I'm heading back to HP after I get out of the shower. I need to do laundry but I'm gonna go to HP instead.
Peace!
