Backdoor of the Day

This is the backdoor of the day. Obviously I'm not putting up backdoors of the day every day but I've been meaning to post this one because it's hilarious. Even though you may have had to be there to think it was funny.

The game is $5/10 no limit.

The players are: Hollywood Park sharks, one sorry ass guy, me, and Adam Morrison.



There is a pre-flop raise of $25. Six people, including Morrison call.

Flop comes Q-10-5. Rainbow.

One guy bets out $50, two players call including Morrison.

Just to give some perspective, Morrison has been playing every single hand and typically folding to bets on the flop and turn.

Turn is a 4. Two people check and Morrison bets $100. Both players call.

River is a 4. Morrison bets another $100 and gets a caller.

Morrison tables the 3-4 offsuit for the winner.

After people were astounded that he stayed in the hand after the flop, he gave the following reasoning:

"I was looking for the backdoor straight with the five on the flop."

Well done, sir, well done.
