Friday night at HP was a disaster. I went in with the outlook that I'd take on the $400 and I left a broken man.
For my first two buy-ins, I got sucked out on with a flush draw and a straight (had pocket kings and two pair).
Then with my third buy-in, I tried to suck out with an open-ended straight draw and of course I missed by a mile and a half.
I then took my losing act to the "California Black Jack" games (aka the dark side) and gave some more money away.
But I'm a strong believer of creating your own luck and I feel that recently I've been creating some bad luck for myself.
For instance, this morning I locked my keys in the laundry room and had no way to get them out so I had to knock on the neigbor's doors, hoping someone was home.
This caused me to be late to work. However, had I been getting ready for work earlier, it wouldn't have mattered and I would have recovered the keys with enough time to still make it to work on time.
On the same note, it wouldn't really hurt that bad in losing at the $400 if I was properly bankrolled for the game. I told myself that I would take one shot with a single buy-in and if I lost it, I'd go to the $200. But when I sat down, some of the players were so bad that I thought I could recover my buy-in and I obviously didn't.
Sometimes I feel like a true moron and I'm pretty sure I am.
So now my solution is to work on my self-discipline. It definitely wouldn't hurt to pick up a book on the subject, just so that I have some more motivation, but I'm giving it a shot anyways.
Part of it is eating better.

Doesn't that look tasty? That's the el pollo loco cinco de mayo special.
So we'll see what happens but just like Big Time tells me, don't tell him I've changed my lifestyle until I'm a month into it.
I agree with him. I have a lot of degen life habits and as my best friend since we were six, he is too familiar with these habits.
Hopefully I can maintain some discipline in my life, which would include:
- Work habits
- Eating habits
- Excercise
- Money management
- Time management
- Music recording
- Poker
If that sounds like a lot, here are some examples of why I need to have better discipline in each of those aspects of my life.
Work: I need to be much more punctual. MUCH MORE. lol.
Eating Habits: I eat whatever, whenever. I have probably eaten pizza at like 2 a.m. five times in the last two weeks. So basically I'm going to try eating healthy (mission nearly impossible), stop drinking alcohol and no more soda. GL me.
Exercise: Besides the fact that I excercise only about once or twice a week now (compared to six times a week five years ago), I don't stretch before I excercise and when I'm done, my legs are killing me because I didn't stretch.
Money management: Shoes, clothes, black jack. They all owe me a lot of $.
Time management: I'm going off a set schedule for as long as possible so that I utilize all of my time instead of wondering why I don't have time for everything that I need to do.

Music Recording: As Bird wiped the dust off of the microphone this weekend, I realized I haven't been doing enough of this.
Poker: Right now my game has way too many holes. Too many moves at the wrong times and not controlling the pot sizes. Winning small and losing big.
Sorry for the boring ass self-reflection entry, I'll try to step my blog game up.
Peace!
