On the up and up

I gotta tell you that these next couple months might be real boring in terms of entertainment value. Not that there ever was any entertainment value, but I'm gonna be playing a lot of poker trying to build a roll for June. So when I'm writing about what I did last night, it'll often be about a (12 hour) poker session as opposed to club escapades and midnight taco runs to Tiajuana. Let's not get it twisted though, there's a lot of entertaining shit that happens at HP during the course of a night. I'm just hoping I can remember this type of stuff.

Some highlights from the night:

- My first hand on the button I call a weak raise with 3c7c (hella callers). I flop the flush, raise-push all-in on the flop only to get called by a set, who rivers a boat. I guess that's what I get for calling with 3-7 suited. Kiss that $200 goodbye *smooch*.

- I was in for three buy-ins ($700) in about the first two hours. My second one I was somewhat short-stacked (about $160) and re-raised with queens to $120, only to get re-re-raised by the big blind. Kiss that $200 goodbye *smooch*.

- Rick the floorman caught me snapping flicks of the opposing players (for my list) and started laughing at me. Apparently he thought that I was going to broadcast the game on the internet, which made me lol.

- Sets that I hit: 99 (x3), TT, QQ, KK. I made the most money off the nines against "Pointdexter," who is the guy that served me with T-3 off-suit a week ago. I don't remember if I wrote about it but I've been waiting to grill his ass in the Kev Foreman special. He got cooked. Although later in the night he cracked my aces. He was just too dumb to really milk me with his hand.

- I cracked aces twice, with 99 and QcTc, both times for pretty big pots. That's fun. I ran pocket kings into pocket aces once and doubled a chick up, got my aces cracked once by Pointdexter (9sTs) and lost the aforementioned QQ to AA.

- This guy Nader, who lives at Hollywood Park (literally, I think) wouldn't stop railing my boy Freddy. And when I say railing, I mean sitting six inches behind him and peeking over Freddy's shoulder every hand to see what he had. Freddy didn't like this at all because it's pretty fucking annoying, but I thought it was hilarious. Nader's such a nice guy that Freddy couldn't really say what he wanted to ("get out of here") so he just kept taking 10-minute breaks to get away from Nader. He ended up leaving because Nader was sweating him so hard.

Okay I'm too tired to continue this stuff, I didn't get any sleep. The drive home from HP to take a shower before work was quite an adventure. Glad I made it.

The night was good though, I finished +$1731, which I'm real content with considering I was down $400 at one point. I'm taking today off so I can get some sleep and hoping to hit it hard this weekend, unlike last weekend.
