Last week I had a car accident and now I have to use a lot of money to get my car fixed and a lot of other money was spent on the way on trips to Vegas, a new computer, paying bills and people back, etc.
I'll start a new challenge soon and I look forward to it. The past couple of weeks have been pretty rough for me and the next two weeks look to be the same so my focus hasn't been where it needs to be in terms of poker. During my last session two days ago I found myself very tired and uninterested in the session. I knew I wasn't playing well but I stayed at the table (and lost) and that is a bad sign for me.
I had a great session on Friday that I didn't blog about but I followed it with two losing sessions on Saturday and Sunday, which completely neutralized the winning session on Friday and I ended down for the weekend.
Some people questioned whether I really started with $200 and I can assure you that I did. I have no reason to lie about any of this and obviously the last half of the challenge I did very poorly.
The timing is right to end the challenge. Originally I think it was supposed to be August 23rd but with no transportation for the moment, I won't be going to the casino nearly as much to play and I have to figure other things out in life like getting my car back and finding a new roommate in one week's time.
I still have my passion for poker but my game needs some fine tuning at this time. I'm playing too many hands and chasing too many rivers. It's ugly. I've been getting sucked out on a lot and it's effecting the way I'm playing the game. When I'm playing winning poker, every single hand I'm evaluating fully and determining the right decision. Lately I've only been evaluating certain things like who's in the hand or how many outs I have, not a complete analysis and it's costing me chips.
Obviously I'll keep blogging and anyone who reads this, thanks. I will continue to pursue this game called poker and my crazy dream of playing with the best.
Hopefully I can keep bringing some entertaining stories about my life and come up with a new challenge, I just need to figure out how to manage my bankroll better as well as to win more consistenly. I'm on a downswing but I'm not blaming it on bad luck, rather on poor play by yours truly.
If anyone has any suggestions for entries that have to do with live poker at Hollywood Park or a new challenge, feel free to let me know. I'm thinking about a challenge to get a new car or even just a challenge to myself to build my bankroll and keep it for only poker-related things. My poker winnings usually equal a lof of new shoes and hats and that's really not what I should be doing.
I'm also working on a mixtape that I'll put up on here when it's done, but I also haven't had the time I'd hoped for with that. I'll keep updating, this entry is really about ending the summer challenge.
The other guys that were involved in the challenge actually stopped posting their numbers and I don't think they even made a profit as far as I know, so I guess in that aspect I was successful.

you should be proud knowing your a winning poker player, but why are you spending so much money to fix up your car? you didnt have car insurance? and about you finding a new roommate.. what happen to your old one? why did he all of sudden leave?

daddypoker
nice work :)
Been following silently since the challenge started. Keep up the rap!
DP - I'm not spending all of it on my car, my car is going to cost between 1.5 and 2k. I'm not going through insurance. As far as my roommate, he's going to Wisconsin for business school. Originally I was going to live there by myself and at the last minute they notified me that I have to make three times the rent every month at my job, which I don't. I'm hoping everything will fall in place.
Anonymous - Thanks ! I hope you enjoy reading, I'm going to try to keep improving my game and the blog.
LMAO@your grandfather chillin' at the table with you in that pic
